I’m Deena, and I couldn’t be happier to have you here.
With many years of experience in the beauty industry under my belt, including serving as beauty editor at major publications, like Essence and Allure, I’ve become a purveyor of all things beauty. And, as of August 2016, all things parenting. I went back and forth about starting a beauty/mommy blog, but in May 2017 I finally made the jump. I have so much knowledge to impart, but more importantly, I want to hear from you. What are your beauty favorites? And how did you manage to get your little one to sleep through the night?
The man in the blue above is my husband, my biggest fan, Stephen #1 and the main reason why our home stays clean. He’s a much better cook (Ha! I’ll never admit that again) and he’s also kinda cute. Following the Sengstacke family legacy, Stephen captures our story with his camera. Be sure to check out the Boys Corner for tidbits on fatherhood through his lens.
Speaking of parenting, the little guy above is my dear son and the primary reason this blog exists. Stephen #2 (SJ) teaches me so much about life—what it means to be unselfish, truthful, and what genuine love is all about. He made me a mommy and I’m forever grateful.
The three of us reside in New Jersey and my goal is to offer ideas to help moms (and dads) enjoy parenting, while also helping single women look forward to motherhood. In the beauty department, my goal is to inspire you to try new trends, show you how to mix high-end luxury with drugstore deals, and discover what makes YOU beautiful.
I don’t have all the answers, but I really look forward to sharing my experiences and I hope you’ll come along for the ride.
